As the battle against cryptocurrency continues, video giant YouTube has signed a new deal with one of the world's most popular YouTube users. The largest independent YouTube video creator, PewDiePie, will now leave the Dlive blockchain video platform  to stream exclusively to YouTube.

YouTube officially released the news on May 4, and PewDiePie claimed the deal was a "natural match."

“YouTube has been my home for over a decade now and live streaming on the platform feels like a natural fit as I continue to look for new ways to create content and interact with fans worldwide [...] Live streaming is something I’m focusing a lot on in 2020 and beyond, so to be able to partner with YouTube and be at the forefront of new product features is special and exciting for the future.” , PewDiePie said

In April 2019, PewDiePie  signed a partnership agreement with the Dlive blockchain-based content sharing platform. PewDiePie,  real name  Felix Kjellberg, has revealed that she has decided to stream via DLive. Since , DLive PewDiePie has gained over 820,000 subscribers, less than 1% of YouTube's popularity. On May 5th, PewDiePie's YouTube channel celebrated its 10th anniversary with over 25 billion  views and 104 million subscribers.

PewDiePie leaves DLive after platform decides to switch to Tron.


Originally built on the Lino blockchain, DLive reportedly agreed to move to the Tron blockchain at the end of 2019. On the 30th, major peer-to-peer file sharing giant BitTorrent announced that DLive will join the ecosystem.  BitTorrent CEO Justin Sun, who was also the founder of Tron at the time, emphasized that the future is a decentralized content platform with YouTube's cryptocurrency ban.
