Oppo will unveil its first NPU or neural processing unit, along with the brand's first smart glasses and other improvements, at the Oppo Inno Day 2021 event on December 14th. The event will take place on December 14th and 15th in Shenzhen, China, with the virtual event kicking off at 2:30am EST. In addition to a new NPU and smart glasses called the
MariSilicon X, the company also plans to launch a new pop-up camera and digital human. The brand also has other innovations in imaging, artificial intelligence, augmented reality and 5G. The folding camera technology was revealed in a small video the brand posted on Twitter.
The video shows a rectangular-shaped camera module that extends and protrudes from the back of a smartphone, similar to how a conventional point-and-shoot camera works. The camera shown in the clip also has a 1/1.56" sensor, a 50mm lens, and an f/2.4 aperture.
The will also launch a new Oppo foldable smartphone that was recently spotted on Geekbench as well. The phone is expected to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor and 12GB of RAM.
This device has been certified by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and will be released in China. However, we still don`t know a lot about the international availability of the phone
