Pepsi today announced its first brand entry into the innovative and emerging world of non-financial tokens (NFTs) with the Pepsi Mic Drop Genesis NFT Collection. Building on the brand's musical roots, Pepsi is creating a unique generative style NFT in 1893 (to celebrate Pepsi's birthday).

Pepsi today announced its first brand entry into the innovative and emerging world of non-financial tokens (NFTs) with the Pepsi Mic Drop Genesis NFT Collection. Building on the brand's musical roots, Pepsi is creating a unique generative style NFT in 1893 (to celebrate Pepsi's birthday). This NFT will launch tomorrow, Friday, December 10th at 12:00 PM ET on the Ethereum blockchain for free to users (external gas charges).

The exclusive creation of the Pepsi Mic Drop Genesis NFT collection is algorithmically randomly generated, so each NFT is completely unique and inimitable, and the brand's legend in Pepsi's range of flavors and music has captivated the apathetic consumer who loves collages. The Pepsi Mic Drop NFT is based on a variation on the shape of the mic and will be  inspired by iconic Pepsi flavors including classic Pepsi Blue, Diet Pepsi Silver, Pepsi Wild Cherry Red, Pepsi Zero Sugar Black - even fan-favorite Crystal Pepsi, and  more. . . Pepsi is implementing a waitlisting process at the start of the user experience to ensure an equitable experience for consumers with more manageable gas fees and secure participation. The Pepsi Mic Drop wallet waitlist opens Friday, December 10 at 12:00 PM EST on micdrop.pepsi.com. From there: 

On Tuesday, December 14 at 12:30 PM EST, consumers who have been waitlistapproved will be able to mint one of 1,843 Pepsi Mic Drop NFTs free of charge (not including Ethereum gas fees). Consumers should stay tuned as the 50 remaining NFTs will be held for other exciting initiatives in the near future. Once a consumer is verified, the token will be minted and directly sent to their wallet. Consumers can then  identify the correct NFT Pepsi Mic Drop  and publish it to  OpenSea or  other third-party platforms at any time by fulfilling the  terms of service for the platform of their choice.

Following the Pepsi brand's thought leadership in new marketing practices, Pepsi is implementing a carbon offset program with the launch of the Pepsi Mic Drop NFT to ensure a zero carbon footprint.
